July 13th is my youngest brothers birthday.  Its so difficult to imagine that he is 45 this year. In my mind I still see him as a teenager most of the time, despite that he has served his country in the army, and raised a beautiful daughter. Perhaps that is because we all lived at home at the time, and when you move out you feel like everything with your parents stops growing.  I don't know.

Finally finished and blocked the sweater I've been working on for my daughter.  The pattern is a Doris Chan's September Morn Jacket/vest.  She designed it using a Tahki cotton classic lite mercerized cotton.  I used  Panama which is a cotton, linen, viscose blend, by Rowan yarns.  The button is  made by crocheting over a plastic circle. Our recent snow storm was hailed as the Artic Blast by the news people. The roads yesterday were miserable and 2 hours for 25 miles was pretty average across the freeways.  My hubs spent 4 + hours driving 50 miles from work. I just recently found out that locally we have what is called a Warehouse Wineries Wine Walk every 3rd Thursday.  For 20 dollars, you bring your own glass and then there up to 30 participating wineries that offer tastings.  Some offer only 2 tastings maybe a red and a white and others offer  up to 4.  So its quite a variety of what you can find there.  Along with the wine tastings some local

I can't recommend this movie enough.  It has beautiful scenery, a lovely story, and a bit of romance.  Definitely will be more favorable with women, but so be it. I have been swamped in getting our house ready for market.  As of Yesterday its officially for sale.  Already we have had 2 buyers come thru. Then we have an open house on Sunday.  This is pretty exciting.  Mostly I think its because its the last weekend for buyers rebate offered by the government.  Everybody that can is trying to get their contracts done by April 30th. OK step 2 is to declutter- so I went and rented a storage unit in the area where we would like to relocate.  In some ways it seems weird- move your stuff so far away-what if you need something? that's a heck of a drive. Have you seen the movie Precious?  I just went with a friend today and was blown away by the acting and the intensity of this film.  The film was based off a book called Push, written by Sapphire.  The casting was done extremely well.  The young actress who pulls off the character of Precious does a remarkable job, and the mother played by MO'Nique is outstanding.  I have to say there was more

Today was the perfect weather day.  Crisp, cool, snow on the ground in some places and clear & dry roads.  We drove to Leavenworth this morning, had lunch at Gustav's to fuel my aunties shopping engine.
